CIT Tours has added four new Slow Food tours to its list of Wine & Gourmet vacations. Gourmet tours of Tuscany, Campania, Puglia & Sicily highlight the cultural, historic and archaeological treasures and also the gastronomic traditions and culinary specialities of each region.  

The self-drive vacations give passengers the freedom to explore at their own pace with itineraries that provide highlights of the area and hidden treasures. Travellers will visit ancient wine cellars, small local cheese and olive oil producers and enjoy meals at some of the best  ‘trattorie’ from the Slow Food Osterie d’Italia network. They will also enjoy four-star accommodations at hotels and historic residences, plus a rental car for the duration of the tour.

The seven-day gourmet tour of Tuscany, highlighting Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, the Chianti area, Montepulciano and Montalcino, is priced at $1729, and the six-day gourmet tour of Campania, visiting Naples, Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast, starts at $1689. The gourmet tour of Puglia explores the ‘Heel of Italy’ during a six-day itinerary that includes Alberobello,  the Murgia region, Gallipoli, Lecce and Leverano, and costs only $1619. The gourmet tour of Sicily, an eight-day itinerary for food-lovers, is priced at $1879. All rates are per person based on double occupancy.
